Policies

GENERAL – Serenisea Cottages and Vacation Homes are made available for the quiet use and enjoyment of you, our guests. We request that guests respect the facilities being provided and not disturb other guests or neighbors around you. The nature of our location and the locations of many of our vacation homes pose certain natural hazards. We ask that guests observe the instructions and restrictions for their unit provided by Serenisea. We will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests or for loss of valuables.

RATES – The base rental rate quoted for each unit is for one or two persons per night inclusive. If there are more than two people in your party, an extra-person rate will be applied as follows: for each extra person 16 years of age or older, add 10% to the base rental rate; for each child under 16, where permitted, add 5% to the base rental rate. For example on a $200/night rental for 3 adults and 1 child, add 10% or $20/night for the 3rd adult, and 5% or $10/night for the child. Discounts – The first three nights of any stay in the same unit will be charged at the above rates; subsequent nights in the same unit will receive a discount of 30% from those rates. If you pay for your stay with cash, personal check, or travelers checks, you will receive a $5/night discount from the base rental rate. County Bed Tax of 11% will be added to the above rates.

RESTRICTIONS – Each rental has different restrictions pertaining to maximum occupancy, and whether children under 16 or pets are permitted. All Serenisea rentals are non-smoking units. Please note these Restrictions when making your rental choice.

RESERVATIONS – Reservations may be made by calling (800) 331-3836 or (707) 884-3836. Serenisea Cabins #1, 2, 5, and 6 may be reserved in advance for single nights during the week – Sunday through Thursday. All weekend reservations and all Vacation Home reservations made in advance shall be for a minimum of two nights. Special minimum stays may be applied to certain holiday periods.

DEPOSITS – Reservations may be secured by giving Serenisea a valid credit card number at the time the reservation is made. A $20.00 reservation fee will the charged to your credit card at that time. This fee will be applied to the rent due at check in. If you do not wish to use a credit card to guarantee your reservation you may send us a check or money order for an amount equal to the base rate rent for your stay. This check/money order must be received by Serenisea 1) within one week of the date the reservation is made, and 2) at least two weeks prior to your scheduled arrival date. Later reservations must be secured with a credit card. Note the Security Deposit requirements under SECURITY/ DAMAGE DEPOSIT below.

RENT PAYMENT – Rent payment shall be due at check-in. Credit cards, cash, personal and travelers checks, and money orders are acceptable forms of payment of the rent due. A discount is offered if rent is paid by cash, check, or money order (see RATES above). If payment is made by personal check, a credit card must be presented to meet the Security Deposit & Additional Charges requirements noted below.

SECURITY/DAMAGE DEPOSIT – A Security/Damage Deposit of up to $500.00 will be collected, in addition to the rent, from you at check-in unless you authorize use of a credit card to cover any Additional Charges that you incur (see ADDITIONAL CHARGES below). Persons paying by personal check must authorize use of a credit card to cover possible Additional Charges. If there are no additional charges (as is the case with 98%+ of our customers), any deposit monies held will be refunded to you within 21 days of your departure.

ADDITIONAL CHARGES – You may incur charges in addition to the rent paid, in the event that you:

  1. Violate unit restrictions including those pertaining to pets, smoking, gatherings, and maximum occupancy. Failure to report any extra personas staying in the unit and paying rent for same will result in substantial additional charges.
  2. Check out late without authorization.
  3. Ignore instructions in folder pertaining to operation of hot tub, applicances, TV, etc. such that damage occurs or supplemental servicing is required.
  4. Lose the house key or instruction folder.
  5. Fail to do items in the Departure Checklist provided to you in the instruction folder.
  6. Cause damage to the grounds, house, or contents thereof.
  7. Take items belonging to the unit.

CHECK IN – Your unit will normally be ready after 3 P.M. on your arrival date. Earlier check in is permitted if the unit is ready. Units have linens, kitchenware, and firewood. Please bring kindling or fire starters.

CHECK OUTCheck out time is 12 NOON. Checkouts as late as 2 P.M. may be authorized if the cleaning/booking schedule permits. Later, same day checkouts may be arranged on the departure day with payment of an additional 1/2 day’s rent, schedule permitting.

CANCELLATIONS

Cancellation Policy: Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your reservation eight (8) days or more in advance of your arrival date your $20.00 reservation fee will be forfeit. Any other deposit funds held by us will be refunded. If you cancel, shorten, or move your reservation seven (7) days or less prior to your arrival date, or after you arrive, you will be charged the base rate rent for those days that we are unable to rent to someone else.

HOUSE RULES

Persons staying in vehicles, campers, RV’s, or otherwise camping shall not be permitted to use the facilities of a Serenisea rental unit without express approval of Serenisea.

Violation of a unit’s restrictions may result in immediate eviction, forfeiture of deposit, and prepaid rents.

Misuse of this property or failure to pay rents due are subject to penalties of the California Civil Code.

AVAILABILITY – Due to contractual arrangements with vacation home owners, and circumstances beyond our control, availability of a specific vacation home subject to change at any time.

HOT TUB – Due to difficulty in securing timely repairs, we do not guarantee a working hot tub. If a hot tub is inoperative during all or part of your stay, a 10% rent adjustment will be made for days that it is inoperative.
